You… need not travel to other countries or even to a family history center. At home, with the aid of a computer or mobile device, you can identify souls who are yearning for their ordinances. Make the Sabbath a delight by finding your ancestors and liberating them from spirit prison!

—Russell M. Nelson, “The Sabbath Is a Delight,” General Conference, April 2015

NEW Family History Challenge:

Relative Roundup!

We’re asking the Primary kids, with the help of their parents, to find a name of one of their ancestors. This can be done through ordinance ready or through their own research. Their parents will reserve all of the ordinances for that ancestor. They will print off a baptism confirmation card & take a picture of the primary child holding it. Then they’ll post that picture in the Memories of that ancestor. The parents will write their cell number on the back of the card and the Primary child will give that name to a Young Man or Young Woman depending on the gender of the ancestor. The Young Man or Young Woman will go to the temple and take a picture holding the name in front of the temple before they do the baptism and confirmation. They will send that picture to the parents of the primary child so they can post it in the Memories after the baptism and confirmation is completed. The parent will then print off the initiatory, write their phone number on the back and the primary child can give that to an adult in the ward to do. They will take a photo in front of the temple and send it to the parents. The same will be done for the endowment and sealings. If the parents cannot help the primary child, this is where our Ward Temple and Family History Consultants can help get a name for that child.

Check out the slideshow below, it will explain Relative Roundup in simple words and pictures for children:

We also challenge each adult to Add a Person to Your Family Tree over the next few months. Temple and family history consultants can help. These two activities will help us gather scattered Israel, starting with our own families.

Here is a training video link that I think is very helpful:
