Family Name Temple Challenge
The purpose of The Family Name Temple Challenge is to help everyone:
- Learn how to use the Get Involved and Ordinances Ready apps.
- Get motivated to take Family names to the temple and complete their ordinances.
Who Can Play
The whole Stake!

When
Set-up begins the week of December 25th – January 1st
NEW Challenge Dates
January 1st – February 14th, 2026
1. Download Apps
Update your Get Involved app to make sure it includes Verify Places.
TIP: If “Verify Places” does not appear on the Opportunities page, delete and reinstall the app.
2. Take note of the number on the completed tab and temple tab:
Between Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 of each
- From Family Tree: your Temple page showing your ordinance number.
- From Get Involved: your My Contributions temple tab page.
- From Get Involved: your My Contributions all tab page.
3. Scan this QR code or click on the link below
With all of your information and starting numbers.
This confirms that you are officially playing!
4 Way To Earn Points
App Work - The APP will track this for you!
- 1 point for each name verified in Verify Places and 1 point for each name reviewed on the Get Involved app.
(Example: 300 verified places/names = 300 points) - 100 points for any name that gets temple ordinance work done because of your work with the get involved app.
(You see this number under temple on app)
Temple Work- YOU need to track this yourself!
- 100 points for each family name ordinance completed (baptism, initiatory, endowment, or sealing). Names must come from your family line — either through Ordinances Ready, Family Tree hints, or your own research.
- Temple-provided names do not count toward points.
Bonus Points
- 50 points for teaching someone else how to download and use the apps
(as long as they didn’t already know how. They must know how to use it when done).
YOU need to track this yourself!
Finishing The Game
On February 14th, take note of your numbers again:
Your Get Involved – My Contributions page
Your Family Tree – Temple page
4. Use QR Code or click on the link below
For the final form and input your numbers, refer back to images above and take pictures again!
(only put 1 for each ordinance not 100 we will do the math)
This confirms that you are officially DONE!
The Results
At the end, we will tally the points and…The winners (Adults or Youth) will receive a movie night party! Most importantly, the Lord will bless you for your efforts to gather Israel and serve in His house.

Tips:
- If you or your children do not have a smartphone, keep track of your points and turn in. We want everyone to participate.
